North Bay Battalion drop 4-3 overtime decision to last place Barrie Colts

Roy Radke scored shorthanded in overtime to cap off a hat trick and give the Barrie Colts a 4-3 victory over the North Bay Battalion. The Troops clawed their way out of an early 3-0 deficit just to force overtime and earn a single point. Barrie only dressed 17 skaters, one below the limit, and had lost four straight games since a 6-1 home-ice victory February 18th over North Bay.

Brady Lyle, Justin Brazeau and Max Kislinger all scored for the Battalion. Goaltender Brent Moran made 26 saves in the loss. Head Coach Stan Butler says they have to win games, and instead they came out and laid an egg. Butler says they were lucky in the third period to get a goal to tie it up. He gives Barrie a lot of credit because they played hard and they took advantage of them. Butler says they just sucked last night. North Bay now sits with 49 points, ninth overall in the Eastern Conference. They remain one point behind the Ottawa 67’s and Niagara IceDogs, who are tied for seventh place.

There’s no rest for the weary as the Battalion are back in action tonight, as they travel to Mississauga to take on the Steelheads at 7:00pm.
