North Bay Battalion grab another point, but fall 5-4 in a shootout against the Hamilton Bulldogs

The North Bay Battalion managed to grab another single point, but ultimately lost 5-4 in a shootout yesterday afternoon to the Hamilton Bulldogs. Michael Cramarossa scored the only goal in the shootout for Hamilton, while Brett McKenzie, Justin Brazeau and Brett Hargrave all missed for the Troops. North Bay now sits two points behind the Niagara IceDogs and three behind the Sudbury Wolves for the final playoff spot. Steve Harland was plus three with a goal and two assists in the loss.

Head Coach Stan Butler says he’d like to see his team push a little harder in games. Butler says one of the things they really wanted to do today was start well, and Hamilton scored less than two minutes into the game. He says Hamilton was playing three games in two and a half days, and they didn’t really take advantage of that. Butler says they’re down to six games now, and there’s a good chance they aren’t going to make the playoffs if they don’t figure it out.

The Troops return to action Thursday night against the Sudbury Wolves.
