Desperate North Bay Battalion looking for a win as the Sudbury Wolves come to town

The North Bay Battalion take on the Sudbury Wolves tonight in a game that may determine whether or not they make the post season. The Wolves enter tonight three points ahead of the Troops in the standings. Head Coach Stan Butler says tonight’s game is between two desperate teams that both need to win the game. Butler says the playoffs started a long time ago for the Troops. He says they’ve got a few mulligans, but I think we’re running out of those.

North Bay remains in fourth place in the Central Division, with a record of 22-34-6 good for 50 points. The Troops are ninth overall in the Eastern Conference, and will take on Sudbury three times over their final six games. The other teams within striking distance are the Ottawa 67’s with 54 points and the Niagara Icedogs at 52. Ottawa, Niagara and North Bay all have six games left while Sudbury has seven.

Puck drop tonight at Memorial Gardens is set for 7:00pm.
