North Bay Battalion face an uphill battle to make the playoffs after tough weekend

The North Bay Battalion were battered in back to back games over the weekend, but could still decide their own fate when it comes to whether or not they qualify for the postseason.

The Troops lost 6-0 on Saturday night to the last place Barrie Colts, and then lost 7-1 loss against the Niagara Icedogs yesterday afternoon. Brett Hargrave had the only goal for the Battalion, while starting goaltender Brent Moran was pulled for the second straight game.

North Bay has a critical home-and-home coming up with the Sudbury Wolves this week, starting Thursday night at Memorial Gardens. The Troops have a record of 23-36-6 for 52 points, which is fourth in the Central Division. The Battalion sit three points back of Sudbury for the final playoff spot in the East heading into Thursday.
