The North Bay Midget AAA Trappers beat the Sudbury Nickel Capital Wolves 6-3 to claim the OHF Telus Cup Central Region bronze on Sunday. The three previous meetings between the two teams had gone to Sudbury, but the script was a little bit different this time around.
Goalie Drew Joyal shut the door in the Trappers’ net making 27 saves in the victory, and Eric Mondoux was named MVP after a four-point game. The Trappers will be represented at the OHL Gold Cup on May 4th through the 7th, with eight Trappers named to Team NOHA.
