Powassan Voodoos up 3-0 over the Timmins Rock after a big Game 3 victory

The Powassan Voodoos hammered the Timmins Rock 6-0 in Game 3 of their Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League East Division Final at McIntyre Arena. The Voodoos are now up 3-0 in the series, with a chance to close things out tonight.

Gary Mantz had two goals and an assist, Parker Bowman had two goals and two assists, Rhys Brown and Tyson Gilmour had the other goals for the Voodoos. North Bay native Nate McDonald made 22 saves for the shutout. McDonald, who was replaced by back-up goalie Andrew Suriano for the final two minutes and 31 seconds of the game, ran his streak shutout streak to 127 minutes and 26 seconds in the series. He’s also 7-0 in the playoffs.

Game 4 is tonight at 7:30pm in Timmins, and with a win Powassan would advance to the finals.
