The North Bay Selects U-14 Girls captured Gold at the 18th Annual Outaouais Soccer Tournament in Gatineau this past weekend. The girls finished first in round robin play with two (1-0) wins and two (0-0) ties. Abbey Hubbard and Prezzley Hutchison had the goals. Despite a number of great opportunities to score, the final game ended in a 0-0 tie.
Haylie McAnaul scored on the fifth shot of the penalty shootout to win 3-1. The other scorers in the shootout included Abbey Hubbard and Mya Madigan Aultman. This is the second year in a row the Selects have won the tournament in a penalty shootout. The players will have a week off before heading to Newmarket for the Heart of York tournament in August.
