The West Ferris Minor Hockey Association is making a logo change ahead of the upcoming season. On Tuesday, the association made the announcement about the logo and related branding change. A release states that while members recognize this change comes sooner than expected, they’re sure people will be pleased with the new design.
The new logo comprises a trapper not carrying a trap or a net, but instead he’s wearing hockey gloves and is carrying a hockey stick. The change in logo and branding has also allowed the association to obtain copyright and file for trademark.
West Ferris Minor Hockey Association board director Matt Duquette says they wanted to bring hockey back into the West Ferris Minor Hockey Association logo in a more pronounced way while paying tribute and recognizing their long history with the sport. Duqette says this is an exciting time for West Ferris Minor Hockey Association and for their players, and they’re looking forward to another successful season.
