Nipissing University student-athletes and administration and members of the military took part Monday in the lead-up to the ninth annual Nipissing Lakers men’s hockey Military Appreciation Night.
The Lakers take on the Royal Military College this Saturday at 7:30pm at Memorial Gardens.
The Lakers will wear camouflage uniforms that will be available through a silent auction throughout the game and presented to the winning bidder following the contest.
In its history, the game has always been held against RMC.
Nipissing University athletic director Vito Castiglione says that this game is always well-attended and a highlight of the home schedule, and is a great way to show gratitude to the men and women of our armed forces.
Funds raised will go toward the Military Family Resource Centre.
