North Bay OPP concerned about high number of seatbelt infractions over Easter weekend

OPP in North Bay more than doubled the number of seatbelt tickets they handed out during the Easter weekend compared to the previous Easter.

Officers ticketed 127 people for not being strapped in.

That’s more than double the number of infractions during the 2017 Easter when 62 people were ticketed.

The higher number has OPP very concerned that people are knowingly driving area highways without their seatbelts on.

The OPP’s Regional Traffic Inspector, Scott Hlady says seatbelts help prevent deaths and injuries.
