NBPS: Jewellery recovered in drug seizure is from Pearls

The North Bay Police Service has laid additional charges after further investigation into a drug seizure from a stopped 2015 BMW revealed the $7,000 in jewellery recovered is from the break-in at Pearls last weekend.

Chief Scott Tod commented, “This is a great example of the consistent and dedicated work by our officers. Their efforts have resulted in these arrests.” Tod added, “People need to be vigilant in
securing their homes or businesses, taking interest in the safety of their neighbourhoods and working with police not just when crimes occur, but in prevention programs.”

Investigators confirmed the jewellery seized from the vehicle had been stolen in the early morning break and enter on July 28 from the jewellery store on Main Street West in North Bay. In the wake of the break-in (the third at that location), the Downtown Improvement Area announced it would employ security guards to protect downtown businesses from crime.

Both accused have been charged with an additional count of possession of property obtained by crime and remain in custody pending bail hearings.
