‘Hub of arts and entertainment in our community’ unveils new season

The Capitol Centre has announced the list of talented performers and officially opened ticket sales for its 2019-20 season.

More than a third of this season’s line-up features artists who have never before performed at the Capitol Centre. The balance of shows include some returning favourites, a great selection of family shows, and a new sing-along movie series.

Highlights across all series themes include:

  • Sloan, venerable Canadian pop rockers
  • Meghan Patrick, one of the most exciting country artists today
  • Sesame Street live, the beloved children’s television show comes to life on stage
  • Les McKeown’s Bay City Rollers, the pop icon lead of the 1970’s Rollermania phenomenon
  • Lighthouse, Canadian legends celebrating their 50th Anniversary
  • Masters of Illusion, cutting-edge illusionists who perform sleight-of-hand, hilarious comedy, dangerous escapes and large scale illusions

“The Capitol Centre staff has been working hard for several months to put this season together and we are very excited to present it to the public,” said Cindy Forth, Interim Executive Director.

“It’s a well-balanced season with many shows that are brand new to our stage along with some returning favourites,” said Forth. “As the hub for arts and entertainment in our community since 1929, we believe that our 2019-20 season builds on this tradition with a variety of entertainment options that will appeal to all segments of our community.”
