Jet and Tenth Avenue collision update

An update to the single-car collision that took place in the Jet Avenue, Tenth Avenue area.

The original report on the collision was that there were two passengers inside the car at the time of the accident, with both taking off on foot before police and emergency personnel arrived. After that, one of the passengers ran into Lake Nipissing, and despite attempts to get the person out of the water, they stayed in and soon disappeared before the body was recovered a couple of days later.

The newest piece of information is that there was not a second passenger in the car at the time of the collision, but a bystander in close proximity to the accident according to North Bay Police.

The cause of the collision has still not been determined as the Police are waiting on the reports from an autopsy and the results of the Special Investigation Unit’s investigation.
