The North Bay Police Service says it won’t be conducting random vehicle or individual stops.
The service shared the information on its Twitter account this morning.
The announcement of new #COVID19 provincial enforcement measures have generated many questions in our community.
As we review the new provincial regulations, please note that #NorthBay Police will NOT be conducting random vehicle or individual stops.

The service says the new provincial rules, which include giving police the power to randomly pull over vehicles and ask why they are leaving their home, have sparked questions throughout the community.
The changes to police came with many other changes announced yesterday by the Ford government, including outdoor gatherings limited to members of the same household only, reduced capacity of essential retailers to 25-percent as well as the closing of playgrounds and banning of golf, tennis, outdoor soccer, and basketball.
Interprovincial travel is also restricted. The province, with help from the OPP, will set up checkpoints at the Quebec and Manitoba borders and travel between them will be limited to work, medical, and the transportation of goods. Non-essential construction projects will also be shuttered. As of Monday, religious services will be capped to a maximum of 10 people.
