One Red Maple (ORM) has released an app that offers local choices when online shopping.
The North Bay company says the app will take on any corporate retailer that has an online presence.
“We created the real Robinhood app that gives customers an easy way to shop local while they are shopping on sites such as Amazon,” says Mark Sherry, ORM President. “The One Red Maple app pops up over the product webpage to show you your local choices. Click on the local choice and purchase. It is that simple.”
He says the app is all about supporting local independent retailers and local independently owned franchises.
The One Red Maple app is available for download from the Chrome Web Store and is currently only available for desktops and laptops.
Safari and Firefox extensions will follow in 2022.
The app went live in beta test in North Bay and area on December 9th.
ORM says after Christmas more cities will be added to the app as it expands across North America.
