North Bay’s voter information letters are in the mail

Registered voters in North Bay can expect to receive their voter information letters soon.

The city says 40,000 letters have been mailed.

Along with a personal identification number that’s needed to vote online, the letters include information about where and when to vote in the Oct. 24 Municipal Election.

“The letters were mailed Wednesday and should be received as of Oct. 11th, just ahead of the online and advanced voting periods,” states a release.  “Eligible North Bay electors who are planning to vote online and do not receive a letter in the mail by Oct. 11th, or receive a letter that includes incorrect personal information, should contact the City Clerk’s Office at 705-474-0400 to be added to the voters’ list and to receive a PIN.”

For in-person voting, officials say all that’s needed is identification showing a name and qualifying North Bay address.

Online voting runs Oct. 13-24 and can be done from anywhere using any computer, tablet or smartphone.

The city says computers will be available for online voting in the lobby at city hall from 10 am until 4 pm, Oct. 13-14 and Oct. 17-21.

There are also three advance polls taking place:
– Oct. 12 between 10 am and 7 pm at West Ferris Arena
– Oct. 14 between 10 am and 3 pm at Castle Arms II (480 Olive Street)
– Oct. 17 between 10 am and 7 pm at Memorial Gardens.

On election day, five super polls will be open for in-person voting from 10 am and 8 pm.

The five locations include:
– The Davedi Club on Airport Road
– Memorial Gardens
– West Ferris Arena
– Canadore College’s Commerce Court campus
– Vincent Massey Public School’s Annex on Janey Avenue
