North Bay’s new elementary school on Norman Avenue will be named Maple View Public School.
Trustees at the Near North District School Board approved the new name at Tuesday night’s meeting.
The board says the decision comes after several months of work by the renaming committee, including public consultation and a survey after a shortlist of three names was announced.
Officials say survey data indicated that Maple View was the top choice.
The new school, on the former Fricker school site, brings together the student of E.W. Norman and E.T Carmichael Public Schools.
It is scheduled to open in September.
