A grassroots group is making the case for reinstating passenger train service in Northern Ontario. The group, Northern and Eastern Ontario Rail Network, says both the provincial and federal governments have to buy into the re-introduction.
NEORN says rail produces less greenhouse gas emissions than motor vehicles and fits into the government strategy to reduce our carbon footprint. NEORN says support for its passenger train network is growing.
The group has created a website at www.neorn.ca if people want more information about its effort.
