The North Bay Trappers U18 team will “persevere, adapt and overcome.”
That message was posted on the team’s Facebook page Sunday night after their bus caught fire on Highway 11 as they were returning home from Kapuskasing.
A video posted by Carmen Anello, a witness to the fire, says the bus blew a tire and then caught on fire, with all of the team’s equipment and everyone’s belongings gone.
“But, everybody’s safe,” he says.
The video shows the team bus fully engulfed in flames.
Anello wrote on Sunday night that the team was headed home on another bus.
