There were 489 job postings recorded in August for Nipissing District.
The Labour Market Group says that’s just over 5% higher month-over-month, but it’s significantly lower year-over-year.
The figure is down 19% compared to August last year.
Officials say while that’s the second consecutive month-over-month increase, it’s also the third straight month of year-over-year declines.
There were 239 unique employers posting jobs in August.
The top five include:
- North Bay Regional Health Centre
- Nipissing-Parry Sound Catholic District School Board
- Ontario Northland
- Voyageur Aviation Corp
- Nipissing University
Health Care & Social Assistance was the top hiring industry followed by Retail Trade.
Educational Services was third.
