Month-over-month drop in job postings in Nipissing

There are mixed results in the September jobs report in Nipissing.

The Labour Market Group says 772 job postings were recorded that month.

Compared to August, that’s down 88, or just over 10%.

However, it’s up significantly from the 481 job postings recorded in September last year.

Meantime, employer participation held nearly steady month-over-month at 315 unique employers active in the market.

The top five employers posting jobs include:
– North Bay Regional Health Centre
– Near North District School Board
– Nipissing-Parry Sound Catholic District School Board
– Ontario Northland
– Voyageur Aviation Corp

Healthcare and Social Assistance accounted for a quarter of all the job postings.

Retail trade was next at nearly 18%.
