Added $230,000 for addictions treatment at NBRHC

Two addictions treatment-related programs at the North Bay Regional Health Centre are receiving funding to expand.

Vic Fedeli, MPP for Nipissing, announced $230,000 to increase access to medication-assisted treatment and intensive addictions treatment programs in Nipissing.

“Our government continues to support the North Bay Regional Health Centre to ensure patients and families can receive the care they need, when and where they need it,” says Fedeli. “This funding is part of the provinces larger investment to expand the delivery of Rapid Access Addictions Medicine (RAAM) clinics and the Addictions Day/Evening Treatment program.”

Paul Heinrich, Health Centre President and CEO, says they’re the specialized mental health provider in the northeast and welcome the additional funding to expand services.

“Substance use disorders are projected to be one of the top five fastest-growing chronic conditions in our region,” he says. “This funding will strengthen our ability to respond to growing demand and ensure individuals and families can access the care and support they need, closer to home.”

The funding includes:
· $162,500 to the Addictions Day/Evening Treatment program.
· $66,875 to the RAAM clinic.
