Don’t ride your bike on the sidewalk in North Bay or risk the consequences.
That’s the warning from the North Bay Police as they try to bring a growing problem under control.
The department has gotten businesses to put up posters in their windows telling cyclists to stay off the sidewalks.
Sam Adams, a summer student with the North Bay Police, says the department has fielded numerous calls from businesses and pedestrians who sometimes are nearly hit by a cyclist.

Adams says it appears the most incidents of bikes on sidewalks are occurring along Main Street.
She says the fine for getting caught riding on the sidewalk with a bike is $65.
