NBPS says hundreds withdrawn using stolen credit card

North Bay Police are requesting the public’s assistance to identify a male suspected of theft involving a stolen credit card.

On Friday, July 13 at approximately 10:00am, the victim purchased several items at a department store in the east end of the city. The victim used her credit card to make the purchase and shortly after the credit card was stolen from her purse.

The police investigation identified a male suspect who, later that day, attended a bank in North Bay and withdrew several hundred dollars of cash using the credit card.

Police obtained an image of the man from CCTV footage and are looking to identify this suspect.

Anyone with information that may assist police with this investigation is asked to call the North Bay Police Service at 705-497-5555 and select option 9 to speak to a police officer. Constable T. Robertson is investigating.

North Bay Police remind the public to report a lost or stolen card as soon as you notice it is gone. Your card issuer will cancel your card and issue you a new one. You should also make it a habit to regularly check your transactions online or on your monthly statement. If there are any charges that you did not make, report them to your card issuer right away.
