106.3 Jet FM takes flight

After nearly 17 years, Moose FM is changing its tune.

This morning, 106.3 Jet FM took flight, honouring the city’s aviation legacy and introducing a new sound.

North Bay’s Classics 106.3 Jet FM is looking forward to connecting with loyal and new listeners, all while celebrating the city’s history.

That’s according to General Manager Peter Hobbs, who says after two years of launching CFCH Country 90.5 FM, the commitment to being ‘excruciatingly local’ continues.

“We have two live and local morning show broadcasts, originating right here in North Bay. We have the only local radio broadcast news team. Along with our Kindness Cruiser and Summer FunRunner programs, we are helping make North Bay the best place to live, work and play. Because local matters,” says Hobbs.

Despite the new music and look, some things are staying the same. That includes Mike Monaghan’s morning show and Steph Larouche’s Flight Home. Ty Demerah will fly listeners through their workday. Richard Coffin, who normally reads the noon and afternoon news, will now be anchoring the morning news desk.

“After a difficult last few years, we feel like something fresh and fun was in order. It’s more than a ‘fresh coat of paint’. We’ve got some fun programming and contests and we’re pumped about unveiling it all, all while pumping the classics all day, every day,” adds Program Director Steph Larouche.

North Bay’s Classics 106.3 Jet FM is owned by Canadian broadcast company Vista Radio. Vista Radio owns Country 90.5 FM in North Bay as well, along with 40 other radio stations and digital portals across the country.
