City of North Bay building permit values on the rise

The value of building permits in the City of North Bay comes in at nearly $60 million for the first eight months of 2016. Mayor Al McDonald says the City has seen a boom in construction activity due to a number of large industrial and commercial projects currently ongoing.

The strong numbers leading into September are in large part associated with institutional and commercial building values that continued to climb after the first half of the year. Since June, commercial construction values rose 7.9 per cent. While industrial construction values increased 10 per cent. Activity in the City’s residential building values is also there with housing work permits also on the rise.

McDonald says people are building additions and making changes to their homes. He says this is great for the community, and shows that North Bay is a place where people want to live.
