Clerk turns tables on intruder demanding cash

Shortly before 5:30am on Saturday, North Bay Police responded to a robbery on Algonquin Avenue in North Bay.

A man entered a business and showed a handgun to the victim demanding money from the cash register. The victim grabbed the firearm out of the hands of the male and chased him out of the store. A struggle ensued and the victim received a minor injury requiring medical attention.

Police recovered an imitation handgun from the scene.

The man fled on foot toward the Highway 17 bypass.

The suspect is described as a white male of medium height.

He was wearing:

  • a dark camouflage jacket
  • a red bandana covering his face
  • blue jeans and dark coloured shoes with a white brand on them

The investigation is continuing.
