Athletes from St. Joseph Scollard Hall in North Bay are provincial weightlifting champions. The school had five top medalists at the provincials in Hamilton and that was enough to secure the team trophy.
Gold medal winners from St. Joe’s were Kyrsten Beaudoin and Molly Punnet. Meanwhile Riley Bullet of West Ferris was named best lifter and won gold in the 59 kilo class.
Meanwhile, Andy Dang just missed gold after tying a Stoney Creek lifter in all categories. Dang was given the silver because he was slightly overweight for his weight class and his competitor wasn’t.
