Troops Captain signs with Anaheim

North Bay Battalion Captain Ethan Procyszyn has signed a 3-year NHL entry level contract with Anaheim.

The centre was chosen by the Ducks in the third round, 68th overall, in the 2024 NHL draft.

“Ethan gave everything to this team for the past four years through his hard work, dedication and leadership,” says Adam Dennis, Battalion Director of Hockey Operations, in a release. “We’re thrilled that he has earned his first professional contract with the Ducks and have no doubt there’s a long career ahead for this young man.”

In four years with the Troops, Procyszyn played 257 regular season games, scoring 85 goals and 92 assists. In 43 playoff games, he had 15 points, including 9 goals.

North Bay chose the 19-year-old from Wasaga Beach in the first round, 20th overall, of the 2022 OHL Priority Selection from the North Central Predators U16s.

Dennis adds as much as Procyszyn will be missed, they look forward to watching him take this next step in his career.

Procyszyn is the second Troops player to sign on with an NHL club this spring.

In March, overage defenceman Bronson Ride inked a three-year entry level deal with the Vegas Golden Knights.
