North Bay Battalion back at home for showdown with Sarnia Sting

The North Bay Battalion return to action tonight at Memorial Gardens against the Sarnia Sting at 7:00pm.

Sarnia have won their last three games, while the Troops have lost four straight. The Battalion did beat the Sting in Sarnia back on October 30th however. After tonight’s game, the Troops have a huge central division matchup against the Mississauga Steelheads on Friday night and then host the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds on Sunday.

Just 21 games remain in the OHL regular season, and the Troops record of 18-25-4 is good for 40 points, 11 behind first-place Mississauga and tied with the Niagara IceDogs for third spot in the Central Division. The Battalion are still holding onto the final playoff spot in the East because of a game in hand on Niagara.

Things on the injury front are still not looking great for the Battalion. They are still without Captain Riley Bruce with a shoulder injury, Cam Dineen who is recovering from knee surgery, Brady Lyle, who is recovering from a gash to his right leg, Eric Allair with a back problem and goaltender Mat Woroniuk with a knee injury.
