Official plan review and Downtown Waterfront Advisory Committee recommendations headline council agenda

A special meeting of council will kick things off at 5:15pm. It will focus on the city of North Bay’s official plan review. The recommendation is that council initiate and endorse, in principle, the preliminary Work Plan for the North Bay Official Plan Review. That will allow Planning Staff to begin the review process which will allow the city to meet legislative requirements to ensure the plan conforms to provincial plans and policy.

Regular council begins at 6:30pm. The Downtown Waterfront Advisory committee has three different reports on the agenda with various recommendations about Park Policies, a Parking Strategy and a Parks Plan Review and a Site Plan Control Review. Councillor George Maroosis is also bringing forward a motion to give the committee until November 28th to complete their total review.

A couple other items of note include a motion from Councillor Tanya Vrebosch about Natural Gas, amending the On Street parking by-law, and a report about the rehabilitation of King’s Landing.
