The sixth annual emergency services fundraiser raised over $7,800 for the 2026 CIBC Run for the Cure.
Officials say since the challenge began in 2021, participating local emergency services have raised an impressive $35,710 to support the fight against breast cancer.
“Cancer has touched so many lives in our community, including members of our own emergency services members,” said Insp. Jeff Warner. “This is a cause that is close to home for many of us, and we’re proud to come together and contribute to the fight against breast cancer.”
The fundraising totals were:
- North Bay Police Service: $2,631
- District of Nipissing Paramedic Service: $2,499.10
- North Bay Fire and Emergency Services: $1,881
- 22 Wing Military Police: $648.40
- Anishinabek Police Service: $150.50
In previous years, the losing teams would have their fingernails painted pink by the winning team. This year, officials say the team with the lowest total traded in their uniforms for pink aprons and served pancakes to the other services.
City police are thanking everyone who participated and contributed to the campaign.
