Nipissing frosh shine again

Cystic Fibrosis Canada will once again benefit from the spirit and elbow-grease of hundreds of Nipissing University first-year students participating in Frosh Week.

The annual Shinerama event, held Saturday at various locations in and around North Bay, has raised nearly $13,000.

As part of a long-running Frosh Week tradition, students waved signs and cheered loudly to encourage motorists to pull in to Shinerama locations to have their vehicles washed in return for a donation to Cystic Fibrosis Canada.

North Bay car wash locales included Kia of North Bay, Parker’s Your Independent Grocer, Bay Truck Stop, the Cassells Street Beer Store, the Best Western, the Capitol Centre, Sobey’s, gd2go, and Mike & Lori’s No Frills.

Shinerama also operated at the Powassan Fire Department, the Caisse Populaire in Sturgeon Falls, and the Callander Lucky 13.
