The North Bay Sports Hall of Fame Awards Dinner is fast approaching

One woman and four men are the latest inductees to the North Bay Sports Hall of Fame.   Making the list are Chantal Champagne, Brent Pigott and Andy Collins. Rounding out the list of inductees are Craig Rivet and Dieter Misch.

In addition to this year’s inductees, the Hall of Fame has also named the sports award winners in 15 categories.  Among the recipients is Jaimee Bull who is being awarded the Jack Burrows Memorial Award for Sports Achievement.  The Lightning Cheer has been named the Team of the Year and will receive the James Kelly Memorial Award.  The Coach of the Year is Mark Robertson. Robertson is this year’s recipient of the Al Brennan Memorial Trophy.

Larry Tougas is the award winner of the Pete Palangio Award for Contribution to Sport while the Peter Handley Friend of Sport award recipient is Charlie Olmstead. The Award of Excellence in Special Olympics has gone to Clarista Ardiel.  These recipients will also be recognized during the awards dinner.

All five inductees will be added to the Sports Hall of Fame during an awards dinner May 5. This is the 38th annual North Bay Sports Hall of Fame Induction and Awards Dinner and it will take place at the Best Western.
