Nearly 40K in seized drugs and currency by Street Crime Unit

A man and a woman from North Bay remain in custody after an investigation led the North Bay Police Service to charge them with various drug trafficking and firearm charges.

Saturday, members of the NBPS Street Crime Unit pulled over 28-year-old Allan Sway and 20-year-old Zoe Gates-Healey as they were driving back to North Bay on Highway 17. As a result of the search of the vehicle, both were arrested and charged and held in custody for a bail hearing. The firearm charges relate to a .45 calibre handgun found in the vehicle and a quantity of controlled drugs, including:

  • 246 grams of cocaine
  • 54 grams of Crystal Meth (Methamphetamine)
  • 10.9 grams of Methamphetamine pills
  • 4 Oxycodone pills
  • 2 Hydro morphine pills
  • 2 Codeine Contin pills

The total street value of the drugs seized is estimated at $38,355.00. Also seized was $1,270 in Canadian currency.

Sway and Gates-Healey have been held in custody for a bail hearing today, both having been charged with the following offences:

  • One count of Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking a Schedule 1 Substance
  • One count of Possession of Property Obtained by Crime
  • One count of Possession of a Restricted Firearm
  • One count of Unsafe storage of a firearm
  • One count of Unauthorized possession of a firearm
  • One count of Carrying a Concealed Weapon
