NBMCA brings back flood warning

The flood warning is back at least for a day.

The North Bay-Mattawa Conservation Authority has brought back the warning because the region is expecting 15 to 25 mm of rain on Monday.

Last week the Conservation Authority downgraded the flood warning to a water safety statement.

However, the flood warning is in effect until at least Tuesday.

The Conservation Authority says the level of Lake Nipissing remains very high in some areas but is approaching seasonal levels in other spots.

It adds the lake remains susceptible to wind and rain.

The strong wind is expected on Tuesday after Monday’s rain.

The NBMCA says this wind could affect the shorelines of North Bay and Callander if water levels remain high.
