Four break and enters leads to arrest

North Bay Police have arrested and charged a man in relation to several break and enters in North Bay.

A 40-year-old North Bay man has been charged with:

  • Four counts of Break, Enter and Commit Theft
  • One count of Breach of Officer in Charge Undertaking
  • Four counts of breach of probation

There are four break-ins that are connected to the accused over the summer months.

On June 16, the accused entered a home on Lisgar Street where he is suspected of taking several items including a suit case, camping items, and food.

Sometime between July 20 and July 22, the accused is suspected of breaking into a home on Third Avenue and taking items including food, liquor, marijuana, jewelry, and electronics.

A week later, between the 28th and 29th, the accused is suspected of entering a residence on Algonquin Avenue and removing items such as jewelry, electronics, and cash.

After a break, on September 18th the accused i suspected of breaking into a garage on Morin Street and taking a bicycle valued at $400.

Follow-up investigations included the assistance of the Forensic Identification Unit who found DNA at the scenes. It was collected and officers were able to identify the source of that DNA belonged to the accused.

Police found the accused inside a home in the Pinewood area where officers arrested him without incident. The accused also had an arrest warrant for failing to attend court at the time of the arrest.

The accused is being held pending a bail hearing at the North Bay Courthouse.
