In such uncertain times and with home visits not always possible, many are left looking for a way to check in on loved ones while maintaining healthy physical distancing.
The City of North Bay is touting a program designed to ensure the well-being of its citizens.
The RUOK (Are You OK?) program is a partnership with the Golden Age Club and a good way to check in each day on seniors and folks living alone.
It is a voice-activated service that phones everyone on the list every day — at a time predetermined by each subscriber.
If the call goes unanswered, a call is then placed to a designated family contact or friend to make contact with the subscriber or pay a visit.
For more on the RUOK program, see the City of North Bay or Golden Age Club websites or call 705-499-1732.
