First Nations want climate change impact study

First Nations want a study on how climate change is affecting the way of life in remote parts of Northern Ontario.  Aboriginal communities claim climate change is changing migration patterns of animals and that’s affected their hunting.

They add, food, fuel and medical supplies are now flown in more often because the winter roads don’t last as long as they used to.  Ontario’s regional chief, Isadore Day, says adapting to climate change is a life and death issue for Aboriginal people in remote regions.

First Nations say a federal-provincial government impact study on climate change will show how to address the issue.
