North Bay colouring book fundraiser helps support student food bank

A North Bay-themed colouring book is now for sale with proceeds going to a good cause.
The Nipissing University Student Union (NUSU) is behind the initiative, and the $10 colouring book will help support the NUSU Student Food Bank and provide assistance to struggling students.

Officials say the student food bank plays a crucial role in addressing food insecurity among students at the school, and the funds raised will go directly to stocking the shelves, ensuring access to nutritious meals.

“We wanted to capture all the landmarks that make North Bay a second home to our students while raising money for a worthy cause”, said Sarah McGowan, NUSU Director of Communications. “Our food bank usage has increased drastically and we are hoping this fundraiser will help us continue to support our fellow Lakers.”

Madison Turner, NUSU Graphic Designer and colouring book illustrator said, “It has truly been an honour to illustrate these beautiful historic North Bay landmarks for our community to enjoy!”

Featuring numerous locations within North Bay, including the North Bay Museum, Lake Nipissing, and Duchesnay Falls, the colouring book offers a delightful opportunity for individuals to engage with their community and express their creativity. Whether it’s colouring within the lines or adding a personal touch, the book is designed to be enjoyed by individuals of all ages.

To purchase the colouring book and support the NUSU Student Food Bank, interested individuals can visit the NUSU Student Centre at 221 College Drive between the hours of 8:30 am and 4:30 pm, Monday to Friday. Books can be purchased at the second-floor information desk or within the Bay Bistro restaurant.
