Nipissing Lakers Military Appreciation Hockey Games

The Nipissing Lakers military appreciation hockey games are on Saturday, Jan. 27th

– Women’s hockey game at 5pm vs. Brock University
(2nd Military Appreciation game)

– Men’s hockey game at 7:30pm vs. Toronto Metropolitan University
(13th Military Appreciation game, has raised over 32k for our MFRC in the past)

The intent of the Military Appreciation hockey games at Nipissing University is threefold:
1) to raise awareness of the military presence and mission in our area
2) for the students/civilian community to show their appreciation for local military members and their families.
3) to generate some small-scale fundraising revenue for our MFRC from the jersey auction. Roughly 32k total has been raised over the past decade after 13 games.

Given the excitement surrounding the RCAF Centennial in 2024 and 22 Wing’s proud history as an RCAF Station The Nipissing Lakers Teams will incorporate the RCAF 100 logo into the jerseys to add to the hype and create some recognition of the big upcoming milestone for the RCAF.

Funds raised from the proceeds of the jersey auction stay local to support military and veteran families in the North Bay area.
