Public consultation on dementia taking place on Thursday

A series of five public consultations on dementia headed up by the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care will begin on October 25th. The public consultation in North Bay will be held this Thursday at the Golden Age Club on Worthington Street West. Discussions will begin in French at 4:30pm, and the consultation held in English will begin at 7:00pm.

There are over 200,000 Ontarians living with dementia today, and that number is expected to increase by 15 per cent in four years. The consultations will be held in several communities in Ontario to study the document “Developing Ontario’s Dementia Strategy”, which was released by the government on September 21st. The public consultation will give the opportunity for everyone to participate in Ontario’s strategy for dementia.
