Robert Thibert of Mattawa is $75,000 richer today after winning with Instant Roulette. Thibert says he had three tickets to scratch, and his winning ticket was the last one although it took a while for the win to sink in.
Even after he ran it through the store’s ticket checker, Thibert didn’t believe he’d won until the clerk validated his ticket. OLG says the win comes at a time when Thibert is battling cancer. Thibert is buying a new truck and fishing boat so that he can enjoy his time and adds he knows he’ll beat the cancer.
Thibert says he can’t explain what winning the lottery feels like, because it’s still overwhelming and very hard for him to believe. The winning ticket was purchased at Mattawa Discount Variety on McConnell Street in Mattawa.
