More chambers of commerce oppose Ontario Pension Plan

Add the North Bay chamber of commerce to the growing list of Ontario chambers opposed to the proposed Ontario Pension Plan.  Nearly 50 chambers so far are calling on the Wynne Liberals to rethink their plan on a new pension.  North Bay chamber president Jake Lacourse says this is not the time to introduce a new cost to doing business because many regions are still recovering.   A study by the Ontario Chamber of Commerce finds that 44 percent of businesses asked say they will lay off employees or hire fewer people to offset the cost of a new pension plan.  Another 26 percent say they can’t afford the cost at all.
