A 25-year-old city man is facing charges after the North Bay Police Service responded to a weapons-related call in the Cassells Street area.
At about 1 pm on Sunday, officers were called to a report of a man with a knife and arrested a person without incident.
A search resulted in additional edged weapons, ammunition, and a quantity of suspected crystal methamphetamine being seized.
The man faces several charges including weapon, drug and ammunition possession charges, failing to comply with a probation order and disguise with intent.
“The quick and professional response by patrol members brought the situation under control, preventing escalation or further risk to public safety,” says Acting Inspector Jason Long.
The accused was held in custody pending a bail hearing.
