Positive results with city police online reporting system

The North Bay Police Service says their new online reporting system is reporting positive results and strong feedback.

113 reports have been received since launching in May.

Police say incidents reported include various thefts and traffic-related complaints, and have led to 20 people being charged with 41 charges laid.

They say it’s led to positive operational impacts as dispatchers have noted a reduction in minor and non-urgent calls.

“The positive feedback we’ve received from both the public and our NBPS members demonstrates that this system is improving the way we deliver services,” says Acting Deputy Chief Jeff Warner. “We’re encouraged by the results we’ve seen in the first eight weeks and look forward to continuing to expand the service.”

Police remind residents that online reporting is intended for non-emergency incidents only.
