Winter parking restrictions resume this weekend

As we get ready to ‘fall back’ with the clocks this weekend, the city is reminding you about on-street winter parking restrictions.

They come into effect on Sunday, Nov. 1 and run through April 15, 2027.

The bylaw prohibits the parking of vehicles:
– In the Downtown Improvement Area (DIA) from 3 a.m. to 6:30 a.m.
– On blocks containing cul-de-sacs and dead-end roads from 3 a.m. to 8:30 a.m.
– All other streets from 3 a.m. and 7:30 a.m.
– Parking is also restricted whenever snow removal signs are posted.

With the clocks, most of Ontario is going back in time on the weekend with the end of Daylight Saving Time at 2 am on Nov.1.

Before bed on Saturday night, move your clocks back one hour.

Fire officials say it’s also a good time to check your smoke and carbon monoxide alarms to ensure they’re in working order.
