Early Saturday morning, police say a 20-year-old North York man approached another male at a local bar and placed a knife to his throat.

Before the bar employees separated the two males, the victim grabbed the knife, cutting his hand in the process. Staff then contacted the North Bay Police Service.

The North York man is charged with:

  • Carrying a concealed weapon
  • Assault with a weapon
  • Possess a weapon to commit an offence

He was released on a promise to appear with conditions to attend court at a future date.
