North Bay Police are warning the public about a woman passing off phony cheques. The woman claims she’s new to the city, has lost her wallet and is asking people if they can cash her cheques. Police say some people have fallen for the con because after giving the woman money for her cheques, the person learns the cheques were fakes. The woman has been seen along Main Street and the Northgate Shopping Centre. The woman is 5’6”, thin, has blond hair and blue eyes. If she approaches you, police want you to call them.
