Fall forecast, no pumpkin spice added

The meteorologists at The Weather Network have released their fall forecast and signs point to a typical Northern Ontario autumn.

Expect a milder autumn, but nowhere near the heatwave temperatures experienced in the region last September and October.

Temperatures in North Bay and area are predicted to be at normal levels.
Precipitation should also be in the typical range although we may see some early snow falling in October.

Meteorologists say this early dusting of snow might be coming earlier than we would like but it does not necessarily mean an early start to winter as temperatures remain normal through the fall into winter.

The Weather Network crew says most of Canada will see a mild fall with near normal or above normal temperatures for nearly all of Canada. A developing El Niño may lead to a milder winter in Western Canada but from the central Prairies to Atlantic Canada, a more traditional Canadian winter is expected.

Meteorologists say mild weather is expected to return for late fall with fewer fall storms than average. While peak fall colours will be delayed, fall foliage should be excellent overall.
